30 Day Detox

Hi guys I just thought I'd share my recent detox plan. I will be jetting off to Dubai very soon therefore I need to be in shape. I have some terrible photos of me leaning against a jeep on Safari on my  last trip there and let's just say it didn't look pretty. I want to look and feel great this time. :)

I call it a detox really because I have decided that for 30 days I would completely cut out any fatty foods like chocolate, crisps, biscuits, chips, fried food and fizzy drinks. In fact the only liquid I have consumed so far is water and milk in my porridge and the occasional fresh orange juice.

Here is a list of foods that have helped me on this detox/diet/healthy eating plan whatever you want to call it:

  • Boiled vegetables with most of my meals
  • Fresh Fruit is my saviour as it has replaced all my snacks (blueberries in particular)
  • Porridge
  • Frozen yoghurt instead of ice-cream
  • Brown bread
  • Fish
  • Nuts especially roasted and salted almonds
  • Dates give you that sweet kick and energy boost
Foods I have cut out are:
  • Crisps, tend to overindulge when doing movie night with Hubby and Bro in law, they are BIG YIP Eaters(they call them YIPPYS)
  • Biscuits normally for tea time, movie night, when we have guests around and when were out!
  • Chocolate
  • Fried food for lunch, dinner and when we have guests
  • Fizzy drink anytime I'm thirsty as it's always on the table. :( My craving is Diet Coke with loads of ice and a big slice of lime.
  • Tea at TEA time!! lol and breakfast
  • Springrolls is one of my worst I can stuff my face with them.
  • Cake, we always have cake in the house, either they are on special offer or we make it.
  • Ice-cream with lots of different toppings.
OMG and the list probably goes on and on but you get the gist of it. I basically am cutting out everything that is making me into a fat lump!

For anyone on a similar detox, If you're going to cheat, make sure it's earlier in the day as opposed to late evening so I that you can work it off.. lol we're not perfect!!

Exercise was also something I needed to do just to tone up. My usual routine:
  • 20 mins on the exercise bike morning
  • 30 mins walk
  • 20 mins on the exercise bike afternoon if I have the energy
  • 30 mins exercise evening

So I'm on Day 18 and I have noticed a difference I have more energy and I look slimmer yayyyy!!

It hasn't been an easy ride, I have had my up days and my down days including snapping at people because I can't eat those YIPS!!! grrr
Please tell me I'm not the only one! If there's anyone else out there that is doing something similar to me, let me know and we can exchange ideas and support each other.
If there are any other foods that you recommend for the detox please share with me as I love trying new food!

Thanks guys
xx
